Aguad Goa

Reimagining Heritage Through Digital Storytelling

The Vision

Fort Aguada has watched over Goa’s coastline for more than four centuries — silent, steadfast, and rich with untold stories. When the site underwent restoration, the mission was not just to preserve its stone walls, but to breathe new life into its legacy.

Oorja Interactive was commissioned to design and build a digital museum experience that could make history accessible, emotional, and alive — blending culture, technology, and storytelling into one cohesive journey.

The Challenge

How do you translate centuries of layered Goan history into a format that connects with modern audiences?

How do you ensure that technology complements — not overshadows — the heritage?

The challenge was to create an experience that honoured authenticity while leveraging interactive innovation — a digital narrative that could educate, engage, and inspire, without losing the soul of the fort.

Our Approach

We approached the project with a simple belief — heritage must be felt, not just seen.

Our multidisciplinary team combined research, storytelling, design, and engineering to craft an experience that invites exploration.

Key steps included:

  • Curating the narrative around The Land, The People, The Struggle

  • Designing interactive exhibits that blend physical and digital storytelling

  • Developing custom software for touch, motion, and projection-based experiences

  • Integrating archival content, 3D visualization, and dynamic timelines

  • Orchestrating a cohesive visitor journey across multiple zones within the fort
